But the debut irons from UK-based manufacturer GD Golf are different.
The aptly-named Firemouth irons represent a great combination of forgiveness, distance and looks at a superb price.

They are cast from soft stainless steel and sport a classic cavity back look which isn’t anywhere near as bulky as you would expect from a game-improver iron. In fact, they are as sleek as some blades.
They also feature a thin club face and perimeter weighting for great feel, distance and forgiveness. This combination also leads to a really high trajectory and a workable, easy-to-repeat ball flight.
But the technology which is most impressive in the Firemouth irons is the polyurethane damper which sits in the back of the cavity. This cracking addition to the club not only reduces the vibrations through the shaft, but heightens forgiveness — even on mis-hits.
It does this by absorbing all the shock from off-centre shots and leaves you with that addictive ‘middled’ feeling — even when you don’t strike it right.
