Overview
The PencilPal, in a nutshell, is a clever contraption which ensures your pencil is with you at all times. It is a disc-like device which contains a 120cm reel of string and a rubber end which holds your pencil. It works like a tape-measure — simply pull out the desired amount of string and scribble away. When you’re done, the cord retracts and places the pencil back in its original position.
All you have to do is clip it to your bag, or belt loop, and you’ll always be able to fill in your scorecard.
Pros
- It’s extremely convenient — no more will you have to rummage around in your pockets for a pencil before each round.
- It works very well — it keeps hold of the pencil, even when it fires back into the disc, is quite smooth and fixes to your bag nicely.
- You can personalise it with your business logo (see our logo PencilPal, right), your name or even your golf club coat of arms.
- It also comes in four different colours which means it will suit most styles.
- It costs only £2.89 — a price which represents excellent value .
Cons
- It’s not the most exciting product we’ve ever seen, although it does its job very well.
- The nylon cord could be a touch longer — if you have it clipped to your bag, there’s a chance you’ll be stretching it a little.
- The logos can stretch easily if you do not provide the correct size.
To Sum Up…
A simple yet effective tool which will ensure you are never without your pencil. It is fantastic value at less than three pounds and will serve you for countless rounds. It does have its flaws, like any other product, but its advantages more than make up for them.
