The S58s may not be the newest addition to Ping’s vast catalogue of top grade irons, but they are one of the best. They proved a real hit on both Tours when they were released last year and are still in the bags of some of the world’s best players — even with their predecessors (the S57’s) proving such a hit. A common problem many amateurs experience is assuming they have more distance than they actually have. They hit at least one club too little and are thus forced to overswing just to get the ball anywhere near the green.
The result is a mis-hit that comes up short and drifts off the target line.
